Το Οceanic ClimateScapes είναι μια πειραματική παράσταση ηχητικής τέχνης, που προσκαλεί
το κοινό να ακούσει τη θάλασσα. Η παράσταση εξετάζει τη σχέση μεταξύ πολιτισμού, φύσης και
παράστασης, και το πώς αυτά συνδέονται με την ηχοποίηση και την αλγοριθμική σύνθεση με τη
βοήθεια νέων τεχνολογιών όπως ηλεκτρονικά στοιχεία και ο προγραμματισμός.

Χρησιμοποιώντας ηχογραφήσεις θαλάσσιων ηχοτοπίων, φυσικοχημικούς αισθητήρες και κώδικα, οι κινήσεις του
performer προκαλούν μεταλλάξεις, μετασχηματισμούς, διάχυση και τελικά εξαφάνιση των ήχων, σε
μια προσπάθεια να αποτυπωθεί η ευθραυστότητα του θαλάσσιου περιβάλλοντος λόγω της
οικολογικής καταστροφής.
Η κλιματική αλλαγή είναι κυρίως ανθρωπογενής στην καπιταλόκαινο Εποχή, και σε μια αναλογία
με τον ήχο, όλα αυτά τα φυσικά ηχοτοπία παραμορφώνονται και αποξενώνονται από την αρχική
τους μορφή. Ξεκινώντας από ηχογραφήσεις με υδρόφωνα από την Ελληνική Τάφρο, μια
αλγοριθμική σύνθεση ξεδιπλώνεται – μια ηχοποίηση που αλλάζει και μεταμορφώνει τις αρχικές
ηχογραφήσεις με βάση τις μεταβολές που βιώνουν τέσσερις φυσικοχημικές μεταβλητές που
επηρεάζουν την οικολογία των θαλασσών και των ωκεανών. Οι τιμές λαμβάνονται από πραγματικά
παγκόσμια δεδομένα.

Η Μαρία Κόλλια (Triggered Vefa) είναι ηχολήπτρια, sound designer, συνθέτρια και performer. Με
πτυχίο στη Χημεία, τα τελευταία χρόνια ασχολείται με τον Ήχο, συνδυάζοντας τις τεχνικές και
δημιουργικές του πτυχές. Σπούδασε Μουσική Τεχνολογία και παρακολουθεί μεταπτυχιακές
σπουδές στο ΕΚΠΑ, εστιάζοντας στη Μουσική Δημιουργία με Νέα Μέσα. Στην τέχνη της
ενσωματώνει κοινωνικές, οικολογικές και έμφυλες ανησυχίες.

Oceanic ClimateScape is an experimental environmental sound art performance
that invites the audience to listen to the sea. It examines the relationship between culture, nature and performance and how they correlate with sonification and
algorithmic composition with the help of new technologies such as electronics and
programming. Using recordings of ocean soundscapes, electronics, physicochemical
sensors and coding, the gestures of the performer cause the sounds to mutate,
transform, diffuse, and eventually vanish in an attempt to capture the fragility of the
marine environment due to ecological destruction. Climate change is primarily
anthropogenic in the “Capitalocene” Epoch, and in an analogy to sound, all these
natural soundscapes become distorted and alienated from their original form.
Starting with hydrophone recordings from the Hellenic Trench, an algorithmic
composition unfolds – a sonification that changes and transforms the initial recordings based on the transformations experienced by four physicochemical variables affecting
the ecology of seas and oceans.

Την Τρίτη, 1 Οκτωβρίου 2024, δύο καλλιτέχνιδες από τον χώρο της σύγχρονης μουσικής και του αυτοσχεδιασμού, η Isabel Omara Espichicoque Anders και η Νεφέλη Σταματογιαννοπούλου, θα παρουσιάσουν μια παράσταση μουσικού διαλόγου και δημιουργίας, στην Αθήνα.

Η Isabel Omara Espichicoque Anders, Γερμανο-Κουβανή πιανίστρια, συνθέτρια και αυτοσχεδιάστρια, έχει χτίσει μια σημαντική καριέρα στην Ευρώπη και την Ασία. Με ρίζες στη μελέτη του κλασικού πιάνου, επέλεξε να στραφεί σε νέες καλλιτεχνικές μορφές, ενσωματώνοντας τη σύνθεση και τον αυτοσχεδιασμό σε μια ευρύτερη δημιουργική πρακτική. Η Isabel εξερευνά τα όρια του μουσικού διαλόγου, αντλώντας έμπνευση από τη σύνδεση μουσικής, χορού και άλλων μορφών τέχνης, ενώ έχει συνεργαστεί με πλήθος καλλιτεχνών παγκόσμιας εμβέλειας.

Η Νεφέλη Σταματογιαννοπούλου, με έδρα την Αθήνα, είναι μια πολυσχιδής δημιουργός, με έργο που εκτείνεται από τη σύνθεση για παραστάσεις, θέατρο και ταινίες έως την περφόρμανς και τον αυτοσχεδιασμό. Έχει γράψει πάνω από 50 έργα, ενώ ως πολυοργανίστρια παίζει κοντραμπάσο, ηλεκτρικό μπάσο, ηλεκτρονικά και πιάνο, διερευνώντας παράλληλα τις δυνατότητες της φωνής. Οι δημιουργίες της χαρακτηρίζονται από μια προσωπική σημειογραφία και δραματουργία του ήχου, που συχνά συνδέεται με την κίνηση και τη σκηνική δράση.

Στη συναυλία αυτή, η Isabel και η Νεφέλη θα παρουσιάσουν αρχικά ένα σόλο από την κάθε μια, αναδεικνύοντας τη προδωπική τους φωνή και στη συνέχεια θα συμπράξουν σε ένα ντουέτο γεμάτο αυτοσχεδιαστική ενέργεια και δημιουργικότητα.

Μετά το ντουέτο τους, οι δύο καλλιτέχνιδες προσκαλούν αυτοσχεδιαστές της Αθήνας / συνεργάτες του Ον Off, να συμμετάσχουν σε ένα τρίτο, ολιγόλεπτο σετ, όπου θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να συνδιαλλαγούν μαζί τους σε ένα ανοιχτό πλαίσιο δημιουργικού αυτοσχεδιασμού.

On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, two renowned artists from the world of contemporary music and improvisation, Isabel Omara Espichicoque Anders and Nefeli Stamatogiannopoulou, will present a unique evening of musical dialogue and creativity in Athens.

Isabel Omara Espichicoque Anders, a German-Cuban pianist, composer, and improviser, has built a significant career across Europe and Asia. With classical piano training as her foundation, she chose to explore new artistic forms, blending composition and improvisation into a broader creative practice. Isabel delves into the boundaries of musical dialogue, drawing inspiration from the interplay of music, dance, and other art forms. She has collaborated with a wide array of world-class artists, establishing herself as a dynamic force in contemporary music.

Nefeli Stamatogiannopoulou, based in Athens, is a multifaceted creator, with a body of work ranging from compositions for performances, theater, and film to performance art and improvisation. Having written over 50 works, she is also a versatile musician, playing double bass, electric bass, electronics, piano, and exploring the possibilities of the voice. Her recent compositions focus on a personal system of notation and dramaturgy of sound, often connected with movement and stage presence.

In this concert, Isabel and Nefeli will first present solo pieces, highlighting their distinct artistic voices and techniques. Following that, they will come together in a duet, offering an improvisational performance filled with energy and creativity. Their musical interaction promises to engage, merging sound, movement, and emotional expression in a truly original way.

After their duet, the two artists invite improvisers from Athens\Ov Off Members to join them for a third, brief set, where they can collaborate in an open framework of creative improvisation.

Η Ιαπωνική δισκογραφική εταιρεία Zappak γιορτάζει τα 2 χρόνια παρουσίας της στον
χώρο της πειραματικής μουσικής, με μια μοναδική συναυλία σόλο καλλιτεχνών, στο
Ov Off Studio. Η Zappak ιδρύθηκε το 2022 από τον Leo Okagawa και μέχρι σήμερα
έχει κυκλοφορήσει 18 δισκογραφήματα καλλιτεχνών από όλο τον κόσμο, με βάση την
ιδιαίτερη αισθητική του κατεύθυνση. Στον κατάλογο της εταιρείας συμπεριλαμβάνονται
μεταξύ άλλων, η Δήμητρα Κουστερίδου (live electronics), με την πρόσφατη
κυκλοφορία του δίσκου scattering theories in D#, καθώς και ο Χάρης Παζαρούλας
(κοντραμπάσο), με την κυκλοφορία του δίσκου TRANSCENDENCE I, οι οποίοι και θα
παρουσιάσουν για πρώτη φορά, μέρος της προσωπικής τους δισκογραφικής

Η Δήμητρα Κουστερίδου είναι συνθέτρια, ερευνήτρια και sound artist, της οποίας το
έργο εξερευνά τις απτικές και ακουστικές διαστάσεις των site-specific εγκαταστάσεων
και παραστάσεων. Οι συνθέσεις της βασίζονται στον αυτοσχεδιασμό, συχνά
ενσωματώνοντας διεπιστημονικές μορφές που αλληλεπιδρούν με εφήμερες
καταστάσεις και κατακερματισμένα αντικείμενα. Πρόσφατα, η Κουστερίδου έχει
εστιάσει σε αυτοσχέδιες ηχητικές συνθέσεις χρησιμοποιώντας χειροποίητα όργανα και
διαδραστικά ηχητικά κυκλώματα. Έχει παρουσιάσει τη δουλειά της σε συνέδρια,
φεστιβάλ, καθώς και σε ατομικές και ομαδικές εκθέσεις στην Ελλάδα, τη Γερμανία, την

Ο Χάρης Παζαρούλας δείχνει έντονο ενδιαφέρον για τη μελέτη, ερμηνεία και εκτέλεση
της σύγχρονης και πειραματικής μουσικής. Είναι Κορυφαίος Β’ στην ομάδα
κοντραμπάσων της Κρατικής Ορχήστρας Αθηνών, μέλος του συνόλου σύγχρονης

μουσικής ΤΕΤΤΤΙΞ, καθώς και του ερευνητικού καλλιτεχνικού συνόλου Ov Off.
Ταυτόχρονα είναι υποψήφιος διδάκτορας στο Τμήμα Μουσικής Επιστήμης και Τέχνης
του Πανεπιστημίου Μακεδονίας, με αντικείμενο έρευνας τα έργα Ελλήνων συνθετών
για σόλο κοντραμπάσο και ηλεκτρονικά μέσα. Ο πρώτος του προσωπικός δίσκος
TRANSCENDENCE I, κυκλοφόρησε τον Μάιο του 2024 από τη Zappak.

Ο Leo Okagawa είναι sound artist με έδρα το Τόκιο της Ιαπωνίας. Ξεκίνησε να
ηχογραφεί ήχους περιβάλλοντος το 2014 και λίγο μετά άρχισε να δημιουργεί
πολυεπίπεδα κολλάζ από στοιχεία ηχογραφημένων ήχων, θορύβους αναλογικών
μηχανών και απλούς ηλεκτρικούς τόνους. Τα έργα του έχουν κυκλοφορήσει από
δισκογραφικές εταιρείες σε πολλές χώρες. Από το 2017, ασχολείται επίσης με τον
αυτοσχεδιασμό. Χρησιμοποιώντας ηλεκτρονικές συσκευές, εξερευνά τις δομικές
δυνατότητες του ήχου μέσω του συνδυασμού απλών τόνων.

The Japanese record label Zappak celebrates its two-year presence in the experimental music scene with a unique concert in Athens. This event will feature a label showcase by Zappak at Ov Off Studio. Zappak, a small label founded by Leo Okagawa in 2022, has released works by artists from around the world, guided by Okagawa’s distinctive aesthetic vision. The showcase is being held in conjunction with Okagawa’s visit to Greece. Solo performances will be given by Dimitra Kousteridou and Charis Pazaroulas, both of whom have previously released works on the label, as well as by the label’s founder, Leo Okagawa.

Dimitra Kousteridou is a composer, researcher, and sound artist whose work explores the tactile and auditory dimensions of site-specific installations and performances. Her compositions are rooted in improvisation, often incorporating multidisciplinary forms that interact with ephemeral situations and fragmented objects. Recently, Kousteridou has focused on improvised sound compositions using handmade instruments and interactive sound circuits. She has presented her work at various conferences, festivals, and in solo and group exhibitions across Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, Lebanon, Serbia, and the United Kingdom.

Charis Pazaroulas shows an intense interest in the study, interpretation, and performance of contemporary and experimental music. He is the Second Principal Double Bassist of the Athens State Orchestra, a member of the contemporary music ensemble TETTTIΞ, as well as the artistic research group Ov Off. At the same time, he is a PhD candidate at the Department of Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia, focusing on works by Greek composers for solo double bass and electronic media. His debut album, TRANSCENDENCE I, was released in May 2024 by Zappak.

Leo Okagawa is a sound artist based in Tokyo, Japan. He began recording environmental sounds in 2014 and soon after started creating multilayered collage works using recorded sounds, analog machine noise, and simple electronic tones. His works have been released by labels in numerous countries. Since 2017, Okagawa has also been performing improvised pieces. Using electronic devices, he explores the structural possibilities of sound through the combination of simple tones.

Σας προσκαλούμε σε μια μοναδική βραδιά πειραματικής μουσικής με το δίδυμο καλλιτεχνών Diana Duta / DIAN (ηλεκτρονικά, field recordings, φωνή) και  Florence Cats (προετοιμασμένο theremin, αναλογικά αντικείμενα, φωνή), καθώς επίσης  το δεύτερο σετ μας θα είναι ανοικτό σε αυτοσχεδιαστές / improvisers που ζουν  στην Αθήνα!

Η μουσική τους ταλαντεύεται ανάμεσα σε ambient, noise, αυτοσχεδιασμό και spoken word, δημιουργώντας έναν ήχο γεμάτο εκπλήξεις και συγκινήσεις.

Ενεργές στην underground σκηνή των Βρυξελλών, τα projects τους έχουν φιλοξενηθεί και μεταδοθεί από διεθνείς ραδιοφωνικούς σταθμούς. Το “Like a telepath” (2023) ήταν ανάθεση του φεστιβάλ Radiophrenia στη Γλασκώβη και του Kunst Radio στην Αυστρία. Το πιο πρόσφατο έργο τους, “Like a soliloqui” (2024), αποτελεί μέρος του φεστιβάλ Somewhere in between A-Z, επιμελημένο από το Lumpen Art Radio.

Active in the Brussels underground scene, their projects have been hosted and broadcast by international radio stations. Η μουσική συνάντηση των Clio K και Deve Golitin αντλεί έμπνευση από μια πληθώρα επιρροών, συνδυάζοντας στοιχεία τζαζ, κλασικής μουσικής και παγκόσμιας μουσικής.
Οι δύο καλλιτέχνες, επηρεασμένοι από θρυλικές μορφές όπως οι John και Alice Coltrane, Claude Debussy, Erik Satie, Ravi Shankar και Bill Laswell, δημιουργούν ένας ηχητικό κόσμο γεμάτο πειραματισμό και φαντασία.
Η σύμπραξη της άρπας με τη viola da gamba δημιουργεί ένα συναρπαστικό ηχητικό τοπίο. Οι Clio και Deve, ως δύο εξαιρετικοί αυτοσχεδιαστές, πλάθουν μουσικά έργα που αναδύουν έναν ιδιαίτερο, ατμοσφαιρικό ήχο, με έμφαση στην ελευθερία της έκφρασης και τη βαθιά αίσθηση αρμονίας.

Η Clio K πειραματίζεται με την κλασική άρπα, επαναπροσδιορίζοντας τον ρόλο της στις σύγχρονες μουσικές τάσεις, συνδυάζοντας επιρροές από free jazz, σύγχρονη και ανατολίτικη μουσική. Η μουσική της αντλεί έμπνευση από παραδοσιακά όργανα όπως το σαντούρι και η αφρικανική κόρα, δημιουργώντας ένα πρωτότυπο και πολυδιάστατο ηχητικό τοπίο. Ο πρώτος της δίσκος, Ariadne (2016), παρουσίασε μια σύνθεση μεταξύ Ανατολής και Δύσης, ενώ ο δεύτερος, Jasmine in November, με συνεργασίες όπως ο Magic Malik και ο Χάρης Λαμπράκης, εμβαθύνει ακόμα περισσότερο σε αυτήν την αισθητική.

Ο Deve Golitin, γεννημένος το 1973 στη Γαλλία, είναι μουσικός της jazz σκηνής με επιρροές από διάφορα είδη, όπως rock, hip hop, tango, ινδική, αφρικανική και μπαρόκ μουσική. Έχει συνεργαστεί με καλλιτέχνες όπως οι Magic Malik, Jean-Marie Poirier και Clio Karabellias, ενώ το άλμπουμ του Metric and Space (2011) παρουσιάζει τις καινοτόμες συνθέσεις του. Παρά τη βάση του στην jazz κιθάρα, πλέον επικεντρώνεται στη βιόλα ντα γκάμπα, εξερευνώντας νέους τρόπους έκφρασης.

Πρόκειται ένα έργο σε εξέλιξη, που διαμορφώνεται σταδιακά μέσα
από τις ζωντανές εμφανίσεις. Με επιρροές από Ιάπωνες
περιβαλλοντιστές όπως ο Hiroshi Yoshimura (Wet Land) και ο Takashi

ο Κάρλος Καστανέδα (Ταξίδι στο Ιξτλάν), το έργο επεκτείνει θέματα και
αισθητικές προηγούμενων έργων μου όπως το Climate Change Trilogy
(2017) και το Takeshi Fumimota – Adjuster (2023). Παρουσιάστηκε για
πρώτη φορά τον Ιούνιο, σε συνοπτική μορφή, στο δάσος του
Ξυλοκάστρου. Στο Oν Off θα παρουσιαστεί σε εκτεταμένη μορφή, με τη
συμμετοχή άλλων δύο μουσικών.

Συνθέτης, πιανίστας, αυτοσχεδιαστής, ιδρυτικό μέλος του Ελληνικού
Συνδέσμου Συνθετών Ηλεκτροακουστικής Μουσικής και μέλος της
Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Ακουστικής Οικολογίας, ο Βασίλης Ρούπας
δραστηριοποιείται στο χώρο της πειραματικής μουσικής με κύριες
επιρροές την ηλεκτρονική και την τζαζ, αλλά και συχνές αναφορές στην
ambient, minimal και κινηματογραφική μουσική. Συνήθως εμπνέεται
από τη σχέση και την αλληλεπίδραση του ανθρώπου με το φυσικό
περιβάλλον στο οποίο ζει και τις επιπτώσεις που μπορεί να έχει στον
πλανήτη και κατ’ επέκταση στην ανθρώπινη μοίρα.

Project v_r_o_u (vital_resilient_organic_unity)
Environmental Electronic Music

A work in progress, gradually shaped through its live performances.
Influenced by Japanese environmentalists such as Hiroshi Yoshimura
(Wet Land) and Takashi Kokubo (Get at the Wave) and writers such as
Olga Tokarczuk (Drive your plow over the bones of the dead) and Carlos
Castaneda (Journey to Ixtlan), the project extends themes and aesthetics
of older works of mine such as Climate Change Trilogy (2017) and
Takeshi Fumimota – Adjuster (2023). It was performed partially for the
first time in June, in an open-space concert. This gig will be an extended
version, with the participation of two guitarists.

Bio
Composer, pianist, improviser, founding member of the HellenicElectroacoustic Music Composers’ Association and member of the
Hellenic Society for Acoustic Ecology, Vassilis Roupas is an experimental
musician influenced mainly by electronic and jazz music, often using
ambient, minimal and film music elements. Often inspired by man’s
relation and interaction with the natural environment, his impact to the
planet and, by extension, human destiny.

Το ντούο δημιουργήθηκε στο Λονδίνο το 2015 και συνθέτει σε ένα μουσικό  σώμα τις κοινές αγάπες των δυο μουσικών τόσο για τον ελεύθερο αυτοσχεδιασμό όσο και για τη ρεμπέτικη παράδοση (κυρίως αυτή που είναι λιγότερο διαδεδομένη).

Τα περφόρμανς τους αποτελούν παράδοξα υβρίδια μεταξύ των φαινομενικά αντίθετων αυτών ειδών, τα οποιά οι μουσικοί «παντρεύουν» με αυτόματη μαεστρία με εκτεταμένες τεχνικές και πειραγμένα ταξίμια, σε ένα σόου που αντανακλά την ανάγνωση της παραδοσιακής τραγουδοποιίας μέσα από ένα εξαιρετικά συγχρονο μουσικό λεξιλόγιο.

Οι ηχογραφήσεις των Αμάν!!! από τη δισκογραφική DISCREPANT έφτασαν να είναι αντικείμενα δισκοκριτικής του μουσικού αβανγκαρτέ στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο (Weird Britain / QuiteUs), όπου και έχουν συμπράξει δις επί σκηνής με τους διάσημους πια Xylouris White (Café Oto, Myrth & Thymes), αλλά και σε παρουσιάσεις σε εγχώριες μουσικές σκηνές στην Αθήνα και στη Θεσσαλονίκη (Κέντρο Ελέγχου Τηλεοράσεων, ΖΠ87, No Bad Days, κλπ.)
Ιδανική πρόταση για όσους αγαπούν εξίσου και τα δυο είδη του ρεμπέτικου και του ελεύθερου αυτοσχεδιασμού αλλά και για όσους τα αντιπαθούν εξίσου, και φυσικά για οποιοδήποτε ενδιάμεσο γούστο που αντιτίθεται στα κλισέ.

Την παράσταση θα ανοίξει με ιεροφαντική πρόθεση ο πρωτοποριακός εικαστικός και ηχητικός καλλιτέχνης Πάνους Χαραλάμπους, με ένα λεκτικό και ηχητικό περφόρμανς κομμένο και ραμένο για την περίσταση.

Tasos Stamou – bouzouki and lafta

The duo was formed in London in 2015, combining the shared loves of both musicians for free improvisation and the rebetiko tradition (especially the lesser-known aspects of it).

Their performances are paradoxical hybrids of these seemingly opposite genres, which the musicians “marry” with automatic mastery, using extended techniques and altered taximia, in a show that reflects a reinterpretation of traditional songwriting through a highly contemporary musical vocabulary.

Aman’s recordings, released by the DISCREPANT label, have become subjects of avant-garde music criticism in the UK (Weird Britain / QuiteUs), where they have also twice shared the stage with the now-famous Xylouris White (Café Oto, Myrth & Thymes). They’ve also performed in local music venues in Athens and Thessaloniki (Kentro Elegchou Tileoraseon, ZP87, No Bad Days, etc.).An ideal recommendation for those who love both genres equally—rebetiko and free improvisation—or for those who equally dislike both, as well as for any intermediate taste that opposes clichés.

The performance will be opened with a hierophantic intention by the pioneering visual and sound artist Panos Charalambous, with a verbal and sonic performance tailor-made for the occasion.

Ο Matt Rogalsky, ένας Καναδός με καταγωγή από την Νιγηρία και με διεθνή παρουσία, θα βρεθεί στο Ov Off Studio για μία μοναδική εμφάνιση σε ένα ξεχωριστό γεγονός γεμάτο εκπλήξεις!.

Ο Matt Rogalsky έχει εμπλακεί σε διάφορα μουσικά έργα και ερευνητικά προγράμματα, καθώς και στη διδασκαλία στο πανεπιστήμιο Queen’s του Καναδά. Με πλούσιο ακαδημαϊκό παρελθόν και πληθώρα συνεργασιών, ο Matt Rogalsky αποτελεί μια σημαντική φυσιογνωμία στον χώρο της σύγχρονης μουσικής.

Matt Rogalsky :
As a settler-identifying Canadian, I live in Kingston Ontario Canada, also known as Katarokwi, on territories of the Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee which were stolen by earlier generations of settlers. I am grateful to have received a lot of insight and understanding from Indigenous friends and colleagues, into principles of ethical living and making, and I am doing my work in light of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s report and action items.

My background is quite international so I often have trouble saying where I am from. Born in Umuahia, Nigeria in 1966 at the cusp of the Biafran War, I was taken back to Canada where Ottawa was home base, but then moved to peninsular Malaysia as a 5 year old. Returning again to Canada, I had Southern Ontario and Manitoba summers and winters, and then moved with my family to Nairobi Kenya, as a teenager. Returning to Canada we relocated to the Vancouver area. Since then I have lived in the USA and England for extended periods, but the last 20 years I have been based in Kingston/Katarokwi with my partner of 37 years, raising a son who was born in England and is now in his twenties and making great music of his own.

My academic background includes undergraduate studies in experimental music at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver with Martin Bartlett, Barry Truax, Pauline Oliveros and George E Lewis from 1985-1991; MA studies 1993-95 in the Department of Music at Wesleyan University with Ron Kuivila, Alvin Lucier, Anthony Braxton and many others; and a PhD (1999-2006) from City University London focusing on the history of David Tudor’s Rainforest, supervised by Simon Emmerson.

I have been a participant in Composers Inside Electronics presentations of Rainforest and other David Tudor works since 1998, and collaborated on development of Rainforest V, which was acquired in 2017 by the Museum of Modern Art in New York City for its permanent collection.

I teach at Queen’s University (Canada) as Professor in the departments of Drama and Music, Film and Media, and the Cultural Studies Graduate Program. I am Director of the Sonic Arts Studio, originally named Queen’s Electroacoustic Music Studio, founded by David Keane and later run by Kristi Allik.

I am currently collaborating with Geographer Dr Laura Jean Cameron, mentioned above as my partner of 37 years. In 2023 Cameron and I are completing an experimental monograph and radio documentary about Canadian field recordist William WH Gunn. In 2023 I will also begin publishing electronic compositions from a series entitled Revisitations, with a new release on XI Records. These pieces began as studies on the work of other composers, and exist as works which pay hommage to their continuing resonances.

Ana Luisa Diaz de Cossio Sanchez:

I am a musician whose work traverses the space between social structures, individuality, spontaneity, and explores resonance in physical as well as cultural space. Through extreme extended techniques, I challenge conventional instrument playing, exploring the possibilities and limits of sounds within the instrument. My music is informed by political, social, and cultural awareness of the systems constituting our societies. 

I have participated in Manifesté-IRCAM (FR), Darmstadt Summer Course (DE), Ensemble Evolution (USA), Karp Kamina Residency (Togo), ANMA+NordPlus Music Forum (EE), Dark Music Days (IS), Time for Music (FI), ActinArt (DK) among others. I hold degrees from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Listaháskoli Íslands and I’ll start my PhD at University of California San Diego in fall 2024

Dimitra Kousteridou lives and works in Athens she is an  artist, composer and sound artist.
She primarily creates site-specific installations and performances originating from improvisation and using sound as a key medium. Her interdisciplinary practice includes on-call situations with hand-made acoustic synthesizers, natural attributes of artistic objects, and the moving body with its changing feedback in space and time. She has presented her research at conferences and festivals, solo and group exhibitions in Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, Serbia, and the United Kingdom.
She is a founding member of the experimental intermediate project “6.8KOhm Improvisation Series,” an ongoing improvisation action, in collaboration with musicians and artists.

Nefeli Stamatogiannopoulou is a composer, researcher, performance artist and improviser based in Athens.
As a composer she has written more than 50 works  including compositions for many performances/theater and  films, as she has also worked as a director in several projects.
She plays double bass, electric bass, electronics, piano and she is also exploring the limits of the voice.
In her last music and stage compositions, the artist, focuses on a personal system of notation and creation, which explore the relationship between music composition, movement and the dramaturgy of sound.
She is also the composer and founder of, among others, the research artistic group Ov Off ,the music group Spooky Redrum, as well as the founder of Ov Off Studio.
She is a PhD candidate at the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University. She teaches seminar courses & workshops in Greece and abroad, as well as at the Ionian University as a guest lecturer.

Justine Goussot is a French multidisciplinary performer, choreographer and dance professor based in Athens(GR). She studied classical piano (lately at the International Conservatoire of Paris), Jazz and vocal technic in a professional school in Bordeaux (CIAM), musicology and philosophy. In 2005 she is accepted at the Conservatoire of Bordeaux for the professional cursus in contemporary dance and choreography. She traveled many years in Asian countries to gather traditional material such as Kalbeliya, Sufi, Vajra, Bharatanatyam, to then get specialized in Kathak. She has a B.A. in pedagogy of dance from the French ministry of culture. Her first collaborations as an interpret was multidisciplinary oriented, touring with an Orchestra, collaborating with Carlotta Ikeda (Butoh company Ariadone), Nina Dipla (German dance), being an extra and then a dancer at the National Opera of Bordeaux, then later for Lausanne and Saint-Etienne with Lilo Baur, playing music professionally. She created her company La Lali cie in 2011, and signed 11 pieces, in a constant fusion between Dance, Theatre, Music, and at last Science as a support for the raise of a new scoring approach.
