With this performance he has traveled around the world, participating in major festivals.
Kasho Chualan is a Kurdish-Canadian pianist, composer and sound artist currently based in Vienna. Her approach is experimental, textural and narrative. She creates an experimental soundscape manipulating the social constructs of how an instrument should be played or perceived through preparations, electronics, voice, and toys. Her compositions and performances
are inspired by breaking boundaries, raw sounds, experimental improvisation, and risky transparent expression.
Eva Schmechtig is an experienced contemporary dancer and dance educator who began her career in Kempten, Germany. She completed her training, graduating with honors from the Anton Bruckner Private University (ABPU) in Linz, Austria. During her apprenticeship with Norrdans in Sweden, Eva played a key role in creating, performing, and touring the pieces “One One One” by Ioannis Mandafounis and “Maskot” by Rachel Tess.
As an active member of the RedSapata in Linz and an interdisciplinary collective in Athens, she has led numerous workshops and community projects, promoting continuous learning and exchange within these networks. Her latest project, “Unwritten Portraits,” showcases her dedication to collaborative and audience-participatory art. Beyond her dance and teaching abilities, Eva possesses extensive skills in management and coordination, and has experience in producing interdisciplinary performances, creating soundtracks, and video postproduction.
She is supported by the ZAV Künstlervermittlung agency, which aids in expanding her artistic presence both nationally and internationally.
Aron Hollinger is a multi-instrumentalist, musician and composer from Germany. After studying a Bachelor in Jazzguitar from 2015 until 2020 in Linz at the Anton-Bruckner-Privatunervsität,
he is currently based and active in Vienna as a musician and as a researcher in the masters programme of Ethnomusicology (IVE). Aron is performing various styles of music like Jazz, Rock, Traditional Music and improvised Music. His focus and interest is to work and collaborate with artists from different disciplines and backgrounds. Currently, he is part of the projects Banda Yala (Greek Traditional Music), DonauVerhau (Swing, Jazz), Bastards Mustard (Alternative Rock), Pratze (Jazz, Rap, Experimental), Shanghai Inflation Cooperation (Modern Creative, Jazz), Kleztorsion (Klezmer, Avantgarde), and the performative and Interactive Project Written Portraits, where his colleague Adrian Dozetas is portraying people with poetry and Aron with improvised music.
Odysseas Manidakis (born 7.8.1993 in Athens, Greece) is a composer and musician currently based in Vienna, Austria. He studied composition BA at the Ionian University in Corfu with Dimitra Tripani and Joseph Papadatos and MA at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz with Erland Maria Freudenthaler and Christoph Cech. As a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bouzouki, Greek lute, piano/synth, vocals) he engages himself in various bands and projects in Greece and Austria ranging from contemporary jazz to indie rock.
The roots of his musical development lie in traditional music of the Eastern Mediterranean area, especially Greece, the genius improvisations of Keith Jarrett and the inevitable impact of the Beatles during his childhood years. His artistic visions encompass mostly a combination of different art forms and expressive media. The ecstatic and impulsive elements in jazz and world music traditions as well as the innovative and conceptual ideas in contemporary classical music, have shaped the aesthetic character of his compositions. Seemingly irrelevant musical styles provide him with a creative potential, which eventually contributes in bridging the gap between score and music, meticulous composition and spontaneous improvisation.
