-Ο Valerio Mirone (από την Ιταλία) διοργανώνει μια περιοδεία με το σόλο έργο του ονόματι “pakkyōne”, σε όλη την Ευρώπη.

Είναι μια μουσική παράσταση όπου ο Valerio Mirone φοράει μάσκες γιαπωνέζικου Noh, παίζει guzheng (ένα κινέζικο zither) και μερικά ηλεκτροακουστικά παιχνίδια και πειραματίζεται με διάφορες φωνητικές τεχνικές.
Επιπλέον, η παράσταση υποστηρίζεται από μια εικαστική προβολή.

Το Pakkyōne είναι μια μαριονέτα ντυμένη με κουρελιασμένα ρούχα, παραμάνες όπου βρέθηκε σε μια μικρή εγκαταλελειμμένη αγροικία. Δεν μπορεί να μιλήσει όμως παρόλα αυτά, μιλά μια περίεργη γλώσσα, κατασκευασμένη από ηχητικά γραφήματα και άλλα υλικά.
Οι φωνητικές του χορδές, ραμμένες μεταξύ τους με σπάγγο και εμποτισμένα με ρητίνη φύλλα μέντας, ξύνουν τον αέρα και συχνά καταποντίζονται. Υλικά όπως πέτρα, χαλκό και λιωμένο μόλυβδο χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για την κατασκευή. Χωρίς πρόσωπο και μάτια, δανείζεται μερικές φορές μάσκες διαφόρων σχημάτων για να παρατηρήσει τον κόσμο και να αποφύγει το παραπάτημα.
Οι φωνητικές του χορδές, ραμμένες μεταξύ τους με σπάγγο και εμποτισμένα με ρητίνη φύλλα μέντας, ξύνουν τον αέρα και συχνά καταποντίζονται. Η Φυλλένια Γρηγορίου εξερευνά και πειραματίζεται με την τέχνη του αυτοσχεδιασμού προσεγγίζοντας τη γλώσσα και τη μνήμη ως χορογραφικό εργαλείο. Σε αυτό το έργο μοιράζεται μια προσπάθεια να διευρύνει την έννοια της οικειότητας, να τραβήξει την προσοχή στη γλώσσα και να την εντάξει στη διαδικασία συγγραφής των πράξεων και των αναμνήσεων ενός σώματος. Συνθέτει γραπτές χορογραφίες συλλέγοντας στοιχειώδεις σωματικές δράσεις, αφηγήσεις και εκδηλώσεις για να τεκμηριώσει τη διαδικασία ενός σκεπτόμενου σώματος σε κίνηση, που χορεύει σε έκσταση.
Το έργο του Anton Lambert περιστρέφεται γύρω από τις έννοιες της βαθιάς ακρόασης, της ηχητικής δράσης και της ψυχολογίας του ηχογραφημένου ήχου σε σχέση με την πηγή του και τη συγγένειά τους με τη μνήμη. Ηχογραφεί, συλλέγει και αρχειοθετεί όλα τα είδη των ήχων που διαμορφώνει και τροποποιεί. που κυμαίνονται από καθαρές ηχογραφήσεις πεδίου έως έντονα κοκκοποιημένες και αποδομημένες υφές. Σε συνδυασμό με τον αυτοσχεδιασμό, εργάζεται με αλγόριθμους που βασίζονται στην τύχη και τον θόρυβο για να ανασυνθέσει το αρχικό του υλικό με τρόπο σχεδόν Schaeffer-esque

Pakkyōne is a puppet dressed with tattered clothing, safety pins and rags found in a small abandoned farmhouse.
It is not capable of talking but speaks an odd language,
made of sound graphemes and head tilts. His vocal cords, stitched together with twine and resin-soaked mint leaves, scrape the air and often become engulfed. From a hollow
tree he carved a perforated zither and assembled bizarre knick-knacks by beating stone, copper and molten lead.
Built without face and eyes, it sometimes borrows masks of various shapes in order to observe the world and avoid tripping.

Valerio Mirone
Multi-instrumentalist and scholar of throat singing and overtone singing, in the past he has performed as an actor and a composer for the Teatro del Baglio di Villafrati, for which he recorded a triple album dedicated to Horcynus Orca by Stefano d’Arrigo; Japanese language teacher in high schools, member of Lelio Giannetto’s Contemporary Sounds Unity and external collaborator at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo and Curva Minore cultural association for contemporary music. Currently works as a translator, musician and performer: Utveggi (4 albums, a tour in Japan), pakkyōne (an album to be released in 2023 and an upcoming tour in Europe in November/December 2023), Monogatari and Wadi Ensemble of the Merz Foundation
are some of the projects he’s part of.

‘I knew once the nuance of new ones’
is a collaboration between dance artist Fyllenia Grigoriou and musician Anton Lambert, where they let dance and music intertwine in an improvisational score.
Fyllenia Grigoriou explores and experiments with the politics of improvisation by approaching language and memory as a choreographic tool. In this work she shares an attempt to expand the notion of intimacy, to draw attention towards language and to integrate it in the process of writing a body’s actions and memories. She composes written choreographies by collecting elementary body actions, narratives and manifestations to document the process of a thinking body in movement, dancing itself in trance.
Anton Lambert’s work revolves around notions of deep listening, sonic agency and the psychology of recorded sound in relation to its source and their affinity with memory. He records, collects and archives all sorts of sounds which he moulds and modifies; ranging from pure field recordings to heavily granulated and deconstructed textures. Combined with improvisation, he works with chance and noise based algorithms to recompose his source material in an almost Schaeffer-esque way.
